November 2025
U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) released findings from his investigation into Flock Safety’s security practices, and the results are alarming.
Key findings:
- Flock does not require multi-factor authentication for law enforcement accounts
- At least 35 customer account passwords were stolen by hackers
- Stolen credentials are being sold on the dark web
- Data exposed to “hackers, foreign spies, and criminals”
For Woodland residents, this means your location data—every trip to work, church, school, the grocery store—could be in the hands of criminals who purchased stolen login credentials.
This isn’t about preventing crime. It’s about creating new vulnerabilities.
